Hi my name is Jahlin. I have been recording music now for many years i do alot of performing in and around the city of Toronto and Ottawa. You may find me at many of the festivals, I have performed at the canadian exhibition and also at the remember Bob Marley Festival.........

Colin Pitter, musically known as Jahlin, was born in the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica. Arriving to Canada for the first time in the fall of 1975, Jahlin utilize the next four years to further his education. In 1979 he graduated from highschool majoring in welding and was awarded a secondary school diploma.

During the years of 1979-1981 Jaholin worked in Toronto as a welder. His musical career was also beginning to emerge then and he spent the majority of his free time writing poetry and chanting. Also at the time, R.zee Jackson which is a school mate and a scout leader from back in Jamaica that he link up with in Toronto, stage name Esso Jackson, played percussion and was also back up vocalist with Leroy Sibbles band "Ital Groove". Under the guidance of R. Zee Jahlin began to learn the organization of chorus and verse. Music soon became a fulltime occupation for Jahlin and he began helping out around " Ital Groove Band ", with stage shows and sounds and a little performance here and there.
In 1980, Gregory Frank, a Toronto based musician originally from Trinidad was working with a reggae band named Joshua. On Gregory recomendation the members of Joshua asked Jahlin to join them. It was with Joshua that Jahlin performed in Toronto on stage as concert hall for the first time. During the same year Jahlin continued to work with Joshua performing frequently in Toronto and Quebec City at such places as the Drake Hotel, Rivole and Larry's HideAway.
Jahlin musical career continued to move forward and in early 1982 he recorded his first 2 singles under his own label Blak Ekho. The songs titled " Roots Reality ", and " Mystic " which was pre released during the year of 1982, Jahlin left Joshua Band and started spending time with Anthony Hibert, Jahlin and some other Brethren formed a new band called Tri-Star Rockers. Tri-Star Rockers performed regularily in TOronto at places such as Hotel ISabella, Cameron House, Wilson Club Lansdown, Seneca COllege and lots of other outdoor community events, shows all over Quebec, especially Rising Sun in Montreal.
Justice Hi-Power was formed in 1985 by Anthony Hibert. Jahlin again teamed up with Anthony in Justice, where he continued vocally and even played some percussions while he increased performance and talent. And also later the same year Jahlin moved to Ottawa the Capital to further his career by braodening his experience and exposure with the public. Jahlin began first by making special guest appearances with local Ottawa bands. There is a festival in Ottawa called " Ottawa remembers Bob Marley and since 1984 Jahlin has been partaking in this reggae festival. His first appearance in the festival was with Roots Movement band at the fourth annual Remembrance of Bob Marley Reggae festival.
Jahlin later performed with Garnet CHallenger and the Connection Band at 2 outdoor concerts in Calabogie and Smiths Falls. Jahlin also did lots more shows with Connections around Ottawa-Montreal and Toronto. These vibrant and other spectacular guest appearances brought on a demand for Jahlin and Justice High-Power to perform along with 3 other reggae bands at a benefit tribute to Africa titled " Fall Splash 1986 " at Barrymores in Ottawa. Since that time Jahlin has continued to work with ROots Movement Band and the Connection Band in Ottawa.
In 1989 Jahlin released his first album called " Dominant Root Culture " on an independant label called " Black Gold ". Since then Jahlin has been around Canada especially in Montreal. In February 1991, Jahlin along with Mango reggae band performed an opening act for Culture Reggae Band from Jamaica. Later that month Jahlin also did another opening act for " Aswad Reggae Band from England. All these performances took place in Montreal at RIsing Sun.
In Ottawa during the summer of 1993 Jahlin performed along with Roots Movement Band at the Ottawa National Exhibition. In the year of 1994 Jahlin performed in the " Ottawa remembers Bob Marley " reggae festival for hos eleventh appearance. It was a great event as Jahlin was interviewed live by McLean Hunter Cable Television. His exuberant and exciting performances have been seen on various television networks throughout Ontario and Quebec etc. Jahlin now stationed in Toronto, is working on his album cd. In 1996 Jahlin released his second album called " Passing Through " on his own independant label Blak Ekho.
In the fall of 2002 Jahlin released 2 more singles titled " Vampire " and " Experience ". All these songs were picked up by CBC movie making people, for background music in the movie titled Chasing Cain Two Face. Which was made in Toronto, the connection for Jahlin two songs to be in the movie is all through Slamm Recording Studio and Sam Weller. In the fall of 2003 Jahlin released his third album titled " Experience " again on his label Blak Ekho. This cd was done at Slamm Recording Studio by " Sam Welller " and crew, except for 2 tracks which was done in Jamaica at Anchor Recording Studio engineered by Delroy ( Dr. Marshall) Harris, and the tracks were played by Sly and Robbie and crew. Jahlin is now still working out of Slamm on his next couple of singles for 2007 titled Miracle Man and HighGrade Caleebud, which should be released in ENgland first on radio stations etc.
